Convington Cellars, 2009 Petite Syrah. Covington Cellars is a producer to follow here in the Pacific Northwest. We carry their wonderful Cab Franc, and now we’re delighted to have their Petite Syrah in store. Fabulous! There are only 98 cases produced of this vintage.
Airfield- 2010 Syrah, spicy concentrated black currants and coffee, traditional notes of a Syrah, but we choose this producer because the flavors shine!
Chateau Peyus 06 Tannant Cabernet. Tannat, is the lost grape varietal of France making a “come back”. This is tannic wine to the palette, however the winemaker blended the Tannat with Cab. Sav. to soften and tame the varietal.
Minnina 09 Merlot, we enjoy tje ripe blackcherry, medium bodied presenation of this Merlot, suggesting earthy undertones of truffle, hints of cigar box, to give way to plum and black cherry; hint of cedar. Nice acidity keeps the finish lively and fresh for some who may have turned away from Merlot for it’s typical forward fruity plum and jam. Just 168 cases.
